We took the Memorial Day weekend to explore the Grand Tetons, and surrounds.
Grand Teton National Park is home of the beautiful Teton Mountain Range located in Wyoming. I got a lot of DM's asking if dogs are allowed in The Grand Tetons. & yes they are! However, the basic guideline for dogs in the park is "leashed dogs can go anywhere cars can go." This rule is for the safety of your pups because the Grand Tetons are home to bears, elk, deer, moose, and bison. We saw all the above beside bears! So is it still worth bringing the dogs? DEFINITELY. Driving the scenic loop and seeing the pups take in all the beauty was so worth it. We also walked around the parking lot and paved trail in Jackson Lake together. A memory I will cherish forever. Not only did we explore the Grand Tetons, we also explored Jackson Hole. Jackson Hole is a small town that reminded me of Park City, Utah! We drove to Cache Creek and walked the Putt-Putt Trail. This trail had amazing views of the Tetons, and a creek! The pups favorite was playing in the creek after a nice hike! There are several pet friendly trails and restaurants in Jackson Hole. The Grand Tetons offer so much beauty to take in and so much to do. There are many amazing activities: Hiking, whitewater rafting, horseback riding and more. I went horseback riding through the Tetons and it was AMAZING. I highly suggest doing that! Obviously, these activities don't allow dogs. PLAN AHEAD! Book a dog-friendly hotel, RV park or doggy daycare. Also, an hour away from the Grand Tetons is Yellowstone (another AMAZING National Park) Unfortunately, we did not have enough time to get there on this trip. The Grand Tetons is a beautiful place. Share the experience with your dogs, family, and friends. Find more info about Grand Tetons here: www.nps.gov/grte/index.htm <3
