WEEKEND GETAWAY IN THE GRAND TETONS WITH DOGS

5/28/2019

We took the Memorial Day weekend to explore the Grand Tetons, and surrounds.
Grand Teton National Park is home of the beautiful Teton Mountain Range located in Wyoming.
I got a lot of DM's asking if dogs are allowed in The Grand Tetons.
& yes they are! However, the basic guideline for dogs in the park is "leashed dogs can go anywhere cars can go." This rule is for the safety of your pups because the Grand Tetons are home to bears, elk, deer, moose, and bison. We saw all the above beside bears!
So is it still worth bringing the dogs? DEFINITELY.
Driving the scenic loop and seeing the pups take in all the beauty was so worth it.
We also walked around the parking lot and paved trail in Jackson Lake together. A memory I will cherish forever.

Not only did we explore the Grand Tetons, we also explored Jackson Hole.
Jackson Hole is a small town that reminded me of Park City, Utah! We drove to Cache Creek and walked the Putt-Putt Trail. This trail had amazing views of the Tetons, and a creek! The pups favorite was playing in the creek after a nice hike!
There are several pet friendly trails and restaurants in Jackson Hole.

The Grand Tetons offer so much beauty to take in and so much to do. There are many amazing activities: Hiking, whitewater rafting, horseback riding and more. I went horseback riding through the Tetons and it was AMAZING. I highly suggest doing that!
Obviously, these activities don't allow dogs. PLAN AHEAD! Book a dog-friendly hotel, RV park or  doggy daycare.
Also, an hour away from the Grand Tetons is Yellowstone (another AMAZING National Park) Unfortunately, we did not have enough time to get there on this trip.

The Grand Tetons is a beautiful place. Share the experience with your dogs, family, and friends.

@crownandpaw is a company that creates custom renaissance pet art!
@crownandpaw has many portrait styles and sizes to choose from. I chose 'The Count' in an 8' by 10'.

How does @crownandpaw work?
1) Place Order: Choose a portrait style and upload a photo of your pet.
2)  @crownandpaw artists will create your personalized Pet Art and ship it to you.
IT IS AS SIMPLE AS THAT. Just like that, you will have a one of kind piece of art work of your pet.

I chose to have #crownandpaw designers create a photo of Levi. He looks like a KING.
I absolutely loved receiving Levi's @crownandpaw custom portrait and now have it on my bookshelf in my office.
What a lovely piece of art to stare at!

TRAVELING WITH DOGS IN LEEDS, UT

5/5/2019

If you are following us on Instagram, you may have seen our new trailer!
One of my dreams is to travel with the pups, and now it has become a reality.
@girlplusbulldogs team will share traveling tips and must-see places that are pet friendly.

This weekend we took the trailer out for the first time to Leeds, Utah.
  • We stayed at the St. George/ Hurricane KOA. This KOA is across the street from Red Cliffs National Conservation Area.
Red Cliffs is one of my favorite places to go with dogs. Why?
1) Only cost $5 for a day pass.
2) It's like a mini Zion, but with no crowds!
3) There generally is a flowing river and small rock pools. Perfect for dogs to take a dip in!

I recommend going to Red Cliffs in the morning. 1) to avoid crowds 2) to beat the heat.
We went at 7 am and did not see another person or dog! We had the whole place to ourselves.
TIP: always keep enough water for you and your pup. Don't forget to take a collapsible water bowl!
Don't have dogs? Red Cliffs is a must-see with or without, as it provides miles of wonderful hiking and stunning scenery.

  • 5 minutes away from the St. George/ Hurricane KOA is Quail Creek State Park.
You can park along the road and walk down to the lake free of charge! AND once again dogs are allowed.
Surrounded by beautiful red rocks, Quail Creek is like a mini Lake Powell!
Feel free to rent a paddle board or kayak. Have a boat? Bring that too!
Keep an eye out for turtles, frogs and lizards!

  • 20 minutes away from the St. George/ Hurricane KOA is Pioneer Park.
Pioneer Park cost $0 to enter. This park is 52 acres of beautiful red rock formations.
I suggest climbing to the top to take in the magnificent views of St. George.
At Pioneer Park, I have the pups leashed and free. When we get higher, I put them on their leads to be safe.
TIP: go in the morning or at sunset as the temperatures year round at this park are very high.

Leeds/ St. George are filled with natural pet friendly sights!
